Iranian Quran reciter highlights Quranic unity during Hajj

Hajj provides a platform for Quran reciters to connect and share experiences. Seyed Mehdi Sheikholeslami emphasized the importance of Quranic unity and justice. Iran’s Noor Quranic Convoy enhances the religious experience of pilgrims.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Hajj serves as a unique opportunity for Quran reciters from Islamic countries to connect and benefit from each other’s experiences.

Seyed Mehdi Sheikholeslami, a member of Iran’s Quranic Convoy for Hajj, emphasized in an interview in Mecca that this spiritual journey allows qaris to interact with fellow reciters from across the Islamic world.

He highlighted the importance of responding to the Israeli regime’s ongoing crimes in Palestine and Gaza, stating that the Quran is the common language among all pilgrims. By reciting verses that advocate for defending the oppressed and resisting tyranny, qaris can fulfill their moral duty and raise a call for justice.

Sheikholeslami noted that the atmosphere of Quran recitation during Hajj is distinct from other Quranic gatherings due to the heightened spirituality and significance of the pilgrimage.

This difference, he explained, offers a unique experience for young qaris, including himself, as the youngest member of the Quranic convoy at 21 years old.

Expressing his gratitude, he said, “I am very happy to have the opportunity to join the Quranic convoy and travel to the Land of Revelation alongside internationally acclaimed and veteran qaris. I have made every effort to enhance my experience while fulfilling my assigned mission.”

Each year, millions of Muslims from around the world travel to Mecca for Hajj, and Iran sends a number of Quranic activists alongside its pilgrims.

The Quranic convoy for Hajj, known as the Noor (Light) Quranic Convoy, is part of Iran’s broader initiative to enrich the religious experience of its pilgrims through Quran-related programs.
